| PUBLIC COMMENT |
| Review and comment on proposed changes to 2010–2014 Transportation Improvement Program DEADLINE: Jan. 10, 2011 |
MARC recently accepted applications for FFY 2013–2014 Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program (BR) funds. The STP Program provides flexible funding that may be used by states and localities for projects on any federal-aid highway functionally classified as an urban collector or higher. The BR Program provides funds to assist states in their programs to replace or rehabilitate deficient highway bridges and to seismic retrofit bridges located on any public road.
The online application closed at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010.
MARC anticipates the following two-year funding targets, which may be subject to change:
Kansas: Approximately $27 million
Missouri: Approximately $34 million
In order to make the most progress toward our regional and transportation visions, the broad policy goals identified in Transportation Outlook 2040 will serve as a guide for regional transportation investments for this call for projects. Project proposals submitted for consideration will be evaluated based on how closely they align with the policy goals of the plan. In particular, MARC is encouraging potential applicants to consider submitting projects that address public transit and other alternative modes in addition to more traditional roadway construction projects.
