PUBLIC COMMENT

Review proposed changes to 2012 Unified Planning Work Program
DEADLINE: Nov. 7, 2011

The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is a document prepared annually by MARC that describes the transportation planning activities MARC and other agencies propose to undertake during the next fiscal year. Each major activity is described in sufficient detail to indicate who will perform the work, the schedule for completing it and what will result from the activity. The UPWP also contains information on the proposed budget for each activity.

The purpose of the UPWP is to promote a unified regional approach to transportation planning in order to achieve regional goals and objectives. It also serves to document the proposed expenditures of federal, state and local transportation planning funds, and provides a management tool for MARC and the funding agencies in scheduling major transportation planning activities, milestones and products.

The UPWP is developed by MARC with input from local governments, area transit providers, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).

The preparation of this report was financed in part with funding from United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), administered by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). The opinions, findings and conclusions expressed in this publication are those of the authors and not necessarily those of USDOT, KDOT and MoDOT.
