The M-350 Highway/Blue Parkway Corridor Redevelopment Study is a multi-phase study to develop a plan for the economic rejuvenation and redevelopment of the corridor through examining land use and transportation alignment. The area under study includes parts of Kansas City, Mo., Raytown, Mo., and Lee's Summit, Mo. In early 2003, a workgroup consisting of staff from Raytown, Kansas City, MARC and the Missouri Department of Transportation began discussing how Raytown might create a comprehensive development plan to enhance economic vitality along the Missouri State Highway 350 (Blue Parkway) corridor. Corridor VisionThrough public input, and steering committee guidance, a vision statement for the future of the corridor was defined. It will serve as the foundation for current and future strategies and actions related to the corridor. The M-350 Highway/Blue Parkway Corridor should be:
Study AreaThe M-350 Highway/Blue Parkway Corridor study area runs along Hwy 350 from the I-435 interchange to the I-470 interchange, extending 1/4 mile from either side of the highway. The study area includes parts of Raytown, Kansas City and Lee’s Summit. Study GoalsThe M-35 Highway/Blue Parkway Corridor Study is intended to provide a high-level guidebook for making future decisions on economic development and revitalization of the corridor. It will create a unified vision for the future based upon the desires of the community, the local governments and agencies, and business owners. It will also help elected officials make long-term decisions about the corridor. The study has four goals to form a foundation for the future of the area:
