Long-Range Transportation Plan Amendment
May 2006
The MARC Board of Directors approved the following changes to Transportation Outlook 2030 Update on May 30, 2006:
-
• Delete the I-70 Interchange Study from the Street and Highway
Element studies list.
• Add Project #714 “Construction of I-70 Turnpike Interchange
at County Road 1 in Leavenworth County” to the
Regionally Significant Project listing.
• Add Project #715 “Leavenworth County Road 1 Improvements from
I-70 north to U.S. 24-40” to the Regionally Significant
Project listing.

Project #284 “MO-45 between I-435 and MO-K (Widen to
Four Lanes)”:
MoDOT rescheduled this project from the current decade
to the 2011–2020 decade.

Update the Street
and Highway Element studies list
with the following current information:

Provide text description of the U.S. 24-40 Corridor in the
Corridor Studies list: “The corridor extends from K-7 west
to the intersection of County Road 1 and U.S. 24-40, south of Tonganoxie.
KDOT, MARC, Leavenworth County, Basehor and Tonganoxie want to
work together in planning for the future of the corridor through
preserving mobility, promoting safety, and providing reasonable
access to support future development. The study will focus on integrating
current and future land use and transportation demands.”

K-7 Corridor – Update status to show final report anticipated
to be complete by June 2006.

Missouri River Corridor (MRC) Environmental Impact Statement – Re-list as the following components:
-
The MRC environmental studies for I-435 to Sterling Avenue and
Little Blue Expressway have been completed. The FHWA approved the
environmental assessments and issued a Finding of No Significant
Impact (September 2005).

The Chouteau Trafficway section is currently under study as
an Environmental Assessment. This study is anticipated to be complete
in 2006.

The Front Street section (between I-29/I-35 and I-435)
is currently under study as an Environmental Assessment.

The environmental documentation for the section between Sterling
Avenue and U.S. 24 is currently on hold.
- Add Lee’s Summit Road Corridor Study from U.S. 40 through
I-470 to the Corridor Studies list.
