Regional Transportation Safety Blueprint

Transportation safety partners in the bistate Kansas City area and MoDOT's District 4 worked together to develop a regional transportation safety blueprint to complement Missouri's Blueprint for Safer Roadways. A leadership team of law enforcement officers, road safety advocates, engineers, planners, public health professionals and emergency services providers created a bistate plan to reduce the region's serious injuries and fatalities along the transportation network.

The Blueprint is incorporated into the Safety Element of the Kansas City region’s long-range transportation plan, Transportation Outlook 2040 Update. This initiative supports the Mid-America Regional Council's goal of improving the safety of the traveling public.
