Scope of Work
The “Destination: Safe” Coalition is a partnership between local agencies involved in improving transportation system safety. The Coalition provides a means for various community sectors (law enforcement, engineers, safety advocates, public health officials, citizens, trauma room nurses, transit coordinators, public works managers, emergency services providers, bike/ped advocates, local officials, planners and others) to discuss transportation system safety in the Kansas City region.
"Destination: Safe" establishes the region’s transportation safety priorities, coordinates the region’s safety planning and implements coordinated efforts that improve transportation system safety. This scope of work expands beyond MARC’s Metropolitan Planning Organization boundaries and includes Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties in Kansas and Cass, Clay, Henry, Lafayette, Jackson, Johnson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri.
The local “Destination: Safe” Coalition actively partners with the statewide Kansas Safe Not Sorry campaign and Missouri Arrive Alive and helps put statewide efforts into action on a local level.
