ARRA Kansas & Missouri STP Funding Recommendations (pdf) |
(Last updated 3/24/2009)
The Missouri Transportation Enhancements Committee met on March 5 and made adjustments to the current call for Transportation Enhancements (TE) projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
MARC has extended the original application deadline and accepted TE-eligible projects — including new projects — from communities within MARC's Missouri MPO boundary through noon on Friday, March 20. MoDOT will make an estimated $1.96 million available for this programming round.
All project information must be submitted through MARC's Web database. Incomplete submittals will not be considered for programming. Those who have already entered TE-eligible projects into the MARC economic recovery database can access them online to make adjustments. Nonessential information has been eliminated from the entry form.
Applicants are responsible for updating and verifying the accuracy of information submitted, including prioritization of projects. The Missouri TE committee will only consider the top two projects from each community, which must be prioritized. The maximum in federal funding that can be requested for each project is $500,000.

The Missouri TE Committee will meet on April 3, 2009, at 8 a.m. to review and recommend projects for ARRA funding. This list will be sent to the Total Transportation Policy Committee on April 21, and the MARC Board of Directors on April 28, for approval. All meetings will be held in the MARC offices at 600 Broadway, Suite 200, in Kansas City, Mo.
Once projects are approved, they will be added to the region's Transportation Improvement Program, and project sponsors will coordinate with the Missouri Department of Transportation to complete agreements, finalize plans and bid projects for construction or implementation. Missouri TE projects selected to receive ARRA funding must be obligated by March 10, 2010, or they will be redistributed to other states that have fully obligated their funds. These funds will be subject to the provisions of the existing Transportation Enhancements Program.
