The Mid-America Regional Council's Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is developed and amended on a biennial cycle. The TIP update process begins in early
October in every even numbered year and is completed by the following September.

| August | Air quality conformity determination by Air Quality Forum, proposed TIP
presented to Total Transportation Policy Committee; released for public review and comment |
| September | TIP approved by MARC Board; submitted to states for Statewide Transportation Improvement Program approval |
