Meeting
Digital Equity Workshop - Johnson County, Kansas

-
JOCO Central Resource Library, 9875 W. 87th St., Overland Park, KS, 66212

Do all households and neighborhoods in communities across the region have access to high-quality and affordable broadband internet? KC Rising, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) and other community organizations are joining forces to ensure high-speed internet is available to all.

As part of the Kansas City Regional Digital Equity Action Strategy, the partnering organizations are holding a series of digital equity workshops throughout the nine-county region. Today's session takes place at the Johnson County Central Resource Library in the Carmack Community Room. See workshop schedule.

During each workshop, participants will be able to review detailed information about the availability of broadband internet in their community. They will also brainstorm and identify potential broadband projects to improve access across the region. Representatives from MARC and other community partners will be present to discuss ideas and concerns, and answer questions. The comments gathered will inform short- and long-term investments in broadband and digital equity.

Residents are also encouraged to share their opinions online through Oct. 31, 2022, at www.surveymonkey.com/r/KCBroadband or at this toll-free number 1-800-274-1047.
