Join us as we train trainers across the region to build capacity for respiratory protection.
Respirator Fit Test Train-the-Trainer courses will provide the participant with the skills and knowledge to conduct qualitative respiratory protection fit testing for N95 respirators according to OSHA standards. A brief overview of the OSHA respiratory protection standard focusing on the fit-testing requirements will be provided. The training is primarily for those new to the fit-testing requirements, such as health care workers employed at nursing homes and long-term care facilities, but is not limited to only those facilities.
Objectives
The objectives of the course include:
- Understand the respirator fit-testing requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 – Respiratory Protection
- Recognize the differences between masks and respirators and when fit testing is required
- Understand the medical evaluation and recordkeeping requirements of fit testing
- Learn how to conduct fit testing using an OSHA-accepted fit-test protocol for employees wearing N95 respirators
Please note: Participants should bring N95 respirator(s) that they will use during the fit testing.
There is no cost to attend this training. Registration is limited to 15 seats.
