This webinar is designed as an introductory course for busy supervisors, department heads, and elected officials who may not be able to devote a full-day to training. The training includes a basic introduction of culture, ethnicity and diversity, and it focuses on the importance of overcoming implicit bias to safely de-escalate confrontational situations.

With over 33 years of experience in Law Enforcement and crisis intervention/de-escalation, Kim Shaw-Ellis has developed an expertise in educating others who are front-line workers/enforcers/responders as well as a large variety of service providers on the topic of Diversity and Inclusion.  This passionate trainer delivers the material in an engaging, inviting and thought-provoking manner.  She draws from her first-hand life experiences and also from her role as the Diversity Officer for the Kansas City, MO Police Department to help front-line workers safely and successfully connect with the communities they serve.  Her unique ability to create a relatable experience for all who attend is critical for this topic of training.
