Services and Programs

Our services, programs and advocacy help older adults and their caregivers to be resilient. They are designed to keep individuals healthy and in the community.

In-Home Services

In-home services include light housekeeping, chores and personal care (such as assistance with bathing).

Transportation

We contract with local transportation companies to provide transportation to doctor’s offices, clinics and hospitals for medical appointments. Lift-ramps are available to individuals requiring the use of mobility devices.

Legal Aid

Legal assistance is available through Legal Aid of Western Missouri (816-474-6750).

Caregiver Breaks

We offer two types of breaks for caregivers.

  • In-home caregiver breaks provide a companion to be in the home with the older adult.
  • Structured breaks occur at a community location where the caregiver can bring the older adult for a few hours of activities with peers.

These services are often called respite care.

Meals Together

Meals are offered at sites throughout our area. At select sites, fresh salad bar options are available. Meals Together offers a healthy, low-cost option for those who are able to leave their homes. Click here for location and contact information.

Home-Delivered Meals

To begin the process of receiving home-delivered meals, please call the information and referral line at 816-421-4980. A brief screening will be given over the phone to determine initial eligibility. If found to be eligible, a home assessment is the next step in the process. When an opening becomes available, you will be contacted by the senior center that will deliver your meals.

Long-term Care Ombudsman

An ombudsman is a neutral, third-party representative who can listen to concerns about care or quality of life and works to become an advocate for the long-term care resident. MARC’s trained community volunteers respond to requests from residents, family members or long-term care facilities.
