MARC is pleased to partner with the Aging And Disability Vaccination Collaborative and the Missouri Association of Area Agencies on Aging to provide resources for accessing free or low cost flu and COVID-19 vaccines for adults 60 and older, and adults 18-59 with disabilities.

There are three ways to get vaccinated:

  1. Schedule an appointment.*
  2. Attend a community vaccination event.*
  3. Schedule an in-home vaccination.

* Free transportation available to Clay, Jackson and Platte County residents.

1. Schedule an appointment

If you have Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance, your vaccinations will be low cost or free. Please contact your primary care provider or a pharmacy near you to schedule your vaccination appointment. Free transportation is available to vaccination sites in Clay, Jackson and Platte counties (see transportation info below).

For those without insurance, your closest health department may have free or low-cost vaccinations available:

  • Cass County Health Department - Call 816-380-8425 to make an appointment.
  • Clay County Health Department - Call 816-595-4355 to make an appointment.
  • Jackson County Health Department - Call 816-404-6415 to make an appointment.
  • Johnson County Department of Health and Environment:
    • Walk-in hours: Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
      • Olathe - 11875 S. Sunset Drive, Suite 300, Olathe, Kansas
    • Walk-in hours: Tuesday-Wednesday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (Closed from 12-12:30 p.m. for lunch) 
      • Mission - 6000 Lamar Avenue, Suite 140, Mission, Kansas
  • Kansas City, Missouri, Health Department:
    • Accepting walk-ins at their clinic, 2400 Troost, Suite 1300, Kansas City, Missouri; Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Leavenworth County Health Department:
    • Walk-ins available every day except Tuesday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Platte County Health Department - Call 816-858-2412 to make an appointment.
  • Ray County Health Department - Call 816-776-5413 to make an appointment.
  • Wyandotte County Health Department - Call 913-573-8855 to make an appointment.

Are you interested in receiving in-home FLU and COVID shots? 

  • Available in ZIP codes 64101-64132 and 64150-64151.
  • Register with Kathy at Kansas City Shepherd's Center at 816-753-0494.
  • Each person vaccinated will receive a $20 gift card.
     

4. Free transportation to clinics or events

  • Residents of Clay County call 913-262-8600 to schedule.*
  • Residents of Platte County call 816-270-2800 to schedule.*
  • Residents of Jackson County - Call 2-1-1 to schedule. *

* Rides must be scheduled by 2 p.m. the business day prior to your appointment. A 50-mile limit will apply.
