MARC’s Geographic Information Systems Program
Geographic information systems (GIS) are used every day by the Mid-America Regional Council to assist regional planning efforts such as transportation planning, environmental programs, and emergency services.
MARC’s GIS staff provide data, research, and maps that inform regional efforts to improve regional quality of life, sustainability, public safety, and the efficient use of public resources.
MARC supports collaboration among area governments on cross-jurisdictional GIS projects and cost-sharing endeavors. This work is coordinated through the KC Metro GIS Committee — a regional consortium of GIS professionals.
