RideshareKC and MARC’s transportation department teamed up in May to celebrate all things cycling in honor of National Bike Month.

From family bicycle rides to bike rodeos to safety classes, there was no shortage of opportunities to get on two wheels throughout the region. Here are the highlights from Bike Month 2023. 

Here are a few highlights from MARC’s Bike Month campaign:  

Bike Stories  

We produced four video stories about people who bike in the region, highlighting their unique experiences of bicycling.

MARC also requested your bicycling stories earlier this spring. We received 15 stories ranging from connecting with the community through bikes to celebrating new infrastructure in the region. Stories were shared on social media and the MARC website.

Bike Month Media Campaign

Residents and visitors alike may have spotted Bike Month messaging on RideKC Bike hubs and digital billboards around the metro. Featuring illustrations by local artist Nicholette Haigler, the Bike Month graphics also included representations of some of the people interviewed in our video stories!

Ads also appeared on social media, radio and streaming services like Spotify and Pandora.
