Recycling and Solid Waste

Overview

The Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District works with local governments to divert waste from landfills in our region. This is accomplished through a grant program, recycling outreach and education, the regional household hazardous waste program and regional solid waste planning.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste includes products typically used in residences, such as paint, cleaners, lawn and garden products, automotive fluids, bug sprays, fluorescent lights, and other chemical products. The proper disposal of these materials protects our community health and safety.

2026 soccer watch party recycling program

Need recycling bins for your summer watch party? The MARC Solid Waste Management District wants to provide local government partners in Missouri with containers to recycle cans and plastic bottles at local events for the big soccer festivities this summer.

The district will purchase recycling containers, liners and labels that specify materials accepted, and flag signage to mark locations of receptacles at participating watch party events.

Interested entities can view our memorandum of understanding for terms and conditions.
