About the MARC SWMD

The Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District (MARC SWMD) serves as a regional solid waste planning agency for local governments in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri — and works cooperatively with Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties. It also serves residents, businesses and non-profits throughout the Kansas City region.

The district represents the overall interest of its members through a 15-member Executive Board and a Management Council made up of local officials. The Management Council provides overall policy direction to the Executive Board.
