About this plan

The Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District (MARC SWMD) created this plan to inform solid waste planning, increase public awareness of solid waste issues and serve as a resource to local cities and counties.

District Administration

The Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District serves as a regional solid waste planning agency for local governments in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri — and works cooperatively with Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties.

District Programs and Services

The district’s programs and services expand and improve waste reduction efforts throughout the region. They are designed to serve multiple sectors - public, private and non-profit organizations – as well as individual residents.
