Older adult receiving a vaccine

In a partnership with all Missouri Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, we have opened our Information and Referral phone line to assist older adults who have no internet access to register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The program will assist older adults in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties.

The service can also help people who have no email address to sign up by using a MARC email account for appointment notifications. Trained staff follow up with the individuals by phone to remind them of the appointment, and also remind them about the second vaccination appointment, if necessary.

If transportation to the appointment is needed, a ride to and from the vaccine appointment can be arranged through a partnership with area transportation providers, including Jewish Family Services (Clay and Jackson counties), Clay County Senior Services, Platte County Senior Fund and Direct Transit (Ray County).

MARC’s Information and Referral phone line helps connect older Missourians to resources like home-delivered meals, care management and other resources that make aging in the community easier.

Older Missourians who need assistance can call 816-421-4980 or 800-593-7948. In Kansas, seniors without internet access should call their local public health agency or Area Agency on Aging for assistance.
