Parkville receives Communities for All Ages award Oct. 2025

Parkville received a Gold Level Communities for All Ages award Friday, Oct. 17, at the First Suburbs Coalition meeting in North Kansas City. 

Parkville has participated in the Communities for All Ages program since 2018 in an ongoing effort to become more age friendly for residents. After receiving both the Bronze (Awareness) and Silver (Assessment) levels, cities are required to include a Communities for All Ages component in a major plan. Parkville achieved Gold Level recognition when it adopted a new Parks & Recreation Master Plan earlier this year that included funds for an inclusive playground in Platte Landing Park. 

“The city is very excited to receive the Gold Level Recognition as a Community for All Ages. But, it is not just the recognition, it is the fact that we are putting into place programs and facilities that will make our community more welcoming to people of any age. The Community for All Ages has been a terrific initiative sponsored by MARC helping to build better communities and we are honored to be a part of it.”
