The 2020 census reveals the Kansas City region is becoming more racially and ethnically diverse. Though white, non-Hispanic residents remained a substantial majority of the population at 68%, the increase in the number of residents of color between 2010 and 2020 accounted for 92% of the region's overall population growth.
