Information session to focus on federal climate funding

On June 13, speakers from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy will discuss historic funding possibilities for the Kansas City region through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.

The event is organized by Climate Action KC and Black & Veatch, with support from the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).

The speakers include:

  • Chris Castro, chief of staff for the Office of State and Community Energy Programs at the Department of Energy
  • Andrew Wynne, EPA Region 7’s senior advisor for climate change

Castro and Wynne will discuss available funding programs and timelines, and assist in connecting attendees with technical resources to help with funding accessibility.

The event is free to the public and designed for mayors, councilmembers, city administrators and staff, regional climate nonprofits, and corporate sustainability leaders.
