The Kansas City region has a new and improved way to track local air quality with the launch of the redesigned AirQKC website. Updates include enhanced air quality index (AQI) tools, streamlined navigation, refreshed content and expanded access to real-time air quality information.

The site shows visitors real-time AQI values and a more detailed SkyCast air quality forecast for the next day. Knowing the current and predicted air quality helps residents make informed decisions about outdoor activities and health precautions. The site also features real-time air quality maps from AirNow and the regional Tellus sensor network, giving users a more detailed view of conditions across the metropolitan area.

In addition to real-time monitoring and forecasts, visitors can learn about common pollutants such as ozone and fine particulate matter and get tips on reducing emissions through everyday actions.
