  • Pop-up prizes: RideshareKC partnered with local Instagram personality Midtown Cone Guy to reward sustainable commuters in the community through pop-up prize giveaways. RideshareKC team members gave snack bags to bus riders on the Prospect Max and 39 RideKC bus lines; Betty Rae’s Ice Cream tokens to people on bikes, foot and scooters at Armour Boulevard and Gilham Road in midtown Kansas City, Missouri; and high fives and encouragement to pedestrians in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
  • Education and transportation updates: RideshareKC partnered with BikeWalkKC and RideKC Bike for two Instagram Live broadcasts about bike commuting and e-bikes. They also connected with Johnson County Government Director of Public Transportation Josh Powers for an update on transit updates in the county.

RideshareKC appreciates the participants and team leaders for committing to greener transportation, tracking trips throughout the challenge and encouraging their co-workers and community members to participate. Thanks again to Green Commute Challenge sponsors for their support, including Bicycle Depot KC, UMB, Black & Veatch, Commute with Enterprise, HNTB and Spin.

Together, we've made a big impact on the region's environment. Cheers to continued green commuting in the months and years ahead!
