The free, in-person event gave middle and high school students a chance to explore rewarding and high-demand career opportunities in local government, such as law enforcement, fire/EMS, parks/recreation, public health, public works/trades/utilities, administration, human services and information technology.

Students learned about important job skills including CPR, firefighting techniques, communicating with the public and more. The expo also highlighted internships, job shadowing and volunteer opportunities available across the region.

The Mid-America Regional Council would like to thank this year's sponsors and more than 300 representatives from local governments and area colleges who made this year's event a success!

Lead sponsors included the city of Kansas City, Missouri; Jackson County, Missouri; Johnson County, Kansas; and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas. Additional event sponsors included WaterOne, the University of Missouri – Kansas City, and the cities of Leawood, Lenexa, Merriam, Olathe, Overland Park, Prairie Village and Shawnee in Kansas, and the cities of Gladstone, Grandview, Liberty and North Kansas City in Missouri.
