About the Challenge

During the challenge, coworkers become teammates and compete against other companies and organizations to see who can log the most green commute trips. Participants log trips to earn points and are entered to win prizes and glory!

This year, the challenge had a renewed sense of purpose to reward the remote work revolution while encouraging new green commute habits as folks get back to the office. And with the recent rollout of the KC Regional Climate Action Plan, reducing the amount of travel and the use of fuel sources that produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions are ways to reduce the impact of the transportation sector on climate change.

Green Commute Challenge participants track telework, biking, walking, scooter, carpool/vanpool, or transit trips on the RideshareKC app or website throughout the course of the challenge and are entered to win prizes.

The challenge ran from Sept. 2--Oct. 31.
