Challenge highlights

  • Launch of the WAY TO GO app: This was the first challenge using the new WAY TO GO brand. With the rebranding also came the new WAY TO GO app, which provided new functionality, including multi-modal commute logging and increased ease of use.
  • E-Bike Petting Zoo: WAY TO GO collaborated with RideKC Bike and BikeWalkKC to host an e-bike petting zoo at the Brookside Farmers Market on Oct. 6. Prospective e-bike owners had the chance to try out different models and talk to current owners about their experiences riding, commuting on and owning e-bikes.
  • Green Commuter Stop: WAY TO GO set up a pop-up breakfast commuter stop at 41st and Gillham Road in Kansas City, Missouri, on Oct. 20. Hungry commuters got to enjoy Hana’s Donuts and Mildred’s coffee.
  • Green Commuter Deals: Five local businesses, including Bay Boy Sandwiches, Café Corazon, Garden House Café, Oddly Correct and Urban Hikes KC, offered discounts to Green Commute Challenge participants.
  • Finale Party: WAY TO GO celebrated the challenge participants and winners with a pizza party at Velo Garage Tap House in North Kansas City, Missouri, on Nov. 9.
