Whether you're a daily commuter, a business owner, or a concerned citizen, your input is valuable. Please complete a short online survey to share which transportation needs you think should be prioritized, what regional goals are important to you, and how transportation dollars should be spent for the Connected KC 2050 update.

Connected KC 2050 is the metropolitan transportation plan for the Kansas City region. It guides spending for the next 25-30 years and aims to improve transportation in the region by setting goals, policies, strategies, and prioritizing projects. Your input will help inform the goals and strategies for the plan update. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, Jan. 5, 2024.

This plan update is required of all metro areas every five years and is set to be completed by 2025. Since the last update in 2020, the region has seen changes in travel and employment patterns, increased federal and state transportation funding but reduced purchasing power, and more compact population growth. Employment growth remains dispersed, and major highway system and KC Streetcar projects move forward. The plan has been amended to add $1.5 billion in bridge and road capacity projects since 2020 but none for transit projects.

MARC staff held public engagement events throughout the nine counties it represents in its transportation planning work, culminating in a public open house earlier this month to promote the update. More information about the update and the survey can be found here
