Checklist for Implementation
- Address multiple transportation modes in the city’s comprehensive plan.
- Adopt a Complete Streets resolution and implement related activities.
- Provide infrastructure at public transit stops including shelters, lighting and benches.
- Construct pedestrian facilities connecting sidewalks, transit stops and stations.
- Include older driver and pedestrian safety provisions in long-range safety plan.
- Provide information for determining older driver competencies and support transition from driving to non-driving.
- Implement strategies to support independence of non-drivers.
- Provide information on transportation options including details on how to access those services.
- Consider application for Walk Friendly and/or Bike Friendly Community designation.
