The public is invited to a public meeting with United States Army Corps of Engineers staff and Little Blue River watershed local government partners. The USACE is assessing watershed-scale alternatives to minimize flood risk and restore habitat along the reach. Tentative findings will be shared in the meeting followed by a question and answer period in an open house setting.
The Little Blue River Watershed Flood Risk and Ecosystem Restoration Project General Investigation Study is a comprehensive study of the Little Blue River Watershed to address increasing flood risks and reduce risk to communities and the environment. This study will evaluate current conditions and develop potential solutions to reduce flood damage, improve habitat quality, and enhance the overall health of the watershed. Local communities and stakeholders will be involved throughout this process.
Registration for this event is not required. All members of the public are welcome. A similar public meeting is scheduled for August 28 at the Fleming Park Meeting Hall in Blue Springs, MO.
