Regional riparian restoration: The why’s and how’s of riparian stewardship

Please join us for a workshop designed for local government decision-makers (including parks, public works, planning and city management) and environmental nonprofits.  

Participants will hear from national and regional experts on the practical benefits of riparian restoration, best practice implementation, and the opportunities presented by an exciting new regional restoration project!  

The luncheon will feature: 

• Tom Jacobs, MARC’s environment director, will provide an overview of the workshop series.
• Steve Apfelbaum, founder of Applied Ecological Services, Inc and the Applied Ecological Institute, will provide a detailed review of the scientific and policy basis for expansive riparian restoration and management.
• Logan Heley, executive director of Heartland Conservation Alliance and city councilmember in Overland Park, Kansas, will provide an overview of the Renewing the Blue restoration project.
