The MARC Cybersecurity Committee has partnered with CISA Region 7 (Region 7) to create a cyber event exercise designed to impact municipalities MARC serves. The goal is to facilitate a simple scenario that the MARC Cybersecurity Committee team could use to prepare for, respond to and mitigate the impact of a cyberattack

Purpose

Examine the coordination, collaboration, information sharing, and response capabilities of area county courthouses in response to a significant cyber incident.

Objectives

  1. Triage cyber events through effective and timely communication to all needed remediation team members through established channels
  2. Evaluate backup storage capabilities that currently exist to help protect and restore any affected systems, network and data from damage, unauthorized use and exploitation during a cyber event
  3. Assess the ability to deliver coordinated, actionable and timely information to critical internal partners as well as external patrons when faced with a cyber event
  4. Determine any post-event updates needed for courthouse employee phishing and social engineering training and education

The intended audience for this exercise is municipal court clerks, assistant clerks, IT staff, and PIOs. We encourage each city and county in our region to assemble a team to participate in the exercise.
