The Kansas City region is taking innovative approaches to address food waste in our local food service industry.

The district is partnering with Lisa Burgess, Learning Kitchen KC, to implement Food Waste Bites, an effort to eliminate food waste in restaurants using a three-pronged strategy of prevention, rescue and diversion.

Elizabeth Paradise, Bridging The Gap, is establishing the Kansas City chapter of the Green Dining Alliance, an effort with food and beverage establishments which uses a voluntary audit process to evaluate all areas of operations to increase sustainability and reduce environmental impact.

Come hear how these two innovative approaches are changing the waste- reduction landscape of the food service industry in our region.
