MARC’s Give 5 program launches third year of volunteer matching

The classes are free for residents 60 years or older in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties. Classes are enrolling now and start in April.

Give 5 connects older adults with meaningful volunteer opportunities and allows them to “taste test” before committing. The sessions are divided by geographical area, and MARC provides lunch and transportation to various nonprofit organizations. 

Here are the spring 2026 Give 5 sessions:

Eastern Jackson County

  • Thursdays, April 2, 9 and 16, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Location: Mid-Continent Public Library - East Independence Branch, 4505 Little Blue Parkway, Independence, Missouri.
  • Features nonprofits located in south Kansas City, Missouri, Lee’s Summit and Independence.

Ray County

  • Thursday, April 23. 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Location: TBD (Ray County location)
  • Features nonprofits located in Ray County, Missouri.

Jackson County

  • Thursdays, April 30, May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28. 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Location: Classes will be held at KC Meal Link, 1218 Swift Street, North Kansas City, Missouri. (directions)
  • Features nonprofits located in downtown and midtown Kansas City, Missouri.

Give 5 is funded by the state of Missouri and administered statewide by the Missouri Association for Area Agencies on Aging.
