With partners, MARC produces the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Plan.

As the economic development district for the nine-county Kansas City metropolitan region, MARC regularly prepares a regional economic development plan.

This year's CEDS update focuses on economic recovery and resiliency following the COVID-19 pandemic. The update is aligned with KC Rising's pillars of prosperity and considers the ups and downs of the region’s (and nation’s) economy from dramatic job loss in the second quarter of 2020 to strong recovery. The update also looks at those in the region at greatest disadvantage, both during the pandemic and during the economic recovery.

You are invited to review the draft and share your thoughts. Here are some areas we'd especially appreciate input on:

  1. Is our economic analysis helpful to understanding the challenges the region faced early in the pandemic and in efforts to see a strong recovery?
  2. Does the SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis in the appendix accurately reflect our region’s economic situation? Are there other factors we should include?
  3. Does the policy framework with goals and strategies align with where we need to focus efforts to create a stronger economy and workforce? Is anything missing?

Please use the form below to share your input by Dec. 14.

Thanks for your feedback! We value your perspective on this regional document.
