You're invited to share your thoughts on transit options to and from the Kansas City International (KCI) Airport at an upcoming open house.

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and the Mid-America Regional Council are collaborating on the Kansas City International (KCI) Airport Public Transit Services Action Plan. The action plan is part of an ongoing study announced earlier this year and examines improvements to existing transit services or potential new service options to better allow KCI travelers and employees to access key activity centers throughout the Kansas City region.

Greater Kansas City is set to become a top destination for arts, entertainment and culture with the opening of the new KCI terminal in 2023, the recent success of the NFL Draft and the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. The study examines the feasibility of a reliable, accessible and multimodal public rapid transit system that serves KCI, surrounding area businesses and key destinations around the region. This will ensure that both visitors and residents can easily explore all that Kansas City has to offer.

Kimley-Horn serves as the project lead for the plan, which includes multiple public engagement opportunities throughout 2023 including the upcoming open house at the MARC office. The open house will provide an opportunity for the public to evaluate and provide feedback on the proposed transit options for the airport.
