Join us for an interactive virtual exercise (Operation: Heat Shield) which will provide an opportunity for regional community-based organizations to practice activating your organization's plans, protocols and procedures you would use during an extreme heat event.

Objectives

Explore the limits of each organization’s Emergency Operations Plan – What plans, policies, protocols and procedures does your organization have in place to respond to an extreme heat event?

Test and evaluate agency components during a heat event – Communications, Staffing, stakeholder, individual and family care, Safety and security, Resources and assets, Utility loss, and Continuity of Operations.

Exercise these components in three phases – Preparation before the event, response during the event to include protective actions, and relocation/recovery with a focus on Continuity of Operations.

Exercise participants will receive an email with a Zoom meeting link prior to this event.
