Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department Station 6

This eight-hour course is designed to enhance HazMat responders’ ability to analyze, plan, and implement a decontamination plan based on a risk-based response model in alignment with NFPA 470. Multiple methods will be discussed, and key characteristics will be identified to aid in selecting the appropriate type and method of decontamination—focusing on the what, why, and how of successful decontamination at a hazardous materials/WMD event, as well as how to make those decisions.

The training is 50% hands-on. Attendees will participate in lectures and case studies, along with practical sessions to apply the information in real-world scenarios. The course content can be tailored to your team’s equipment, mission, and local target hazards. Participants will receive Hazard3 Technical Guides for reference when applying the material covered.
