This 8-hour, instructor-led course prepares emergency responders to safely and effectively manage battery-related incidents using a risk-based response approach. Participants learn battery construction and chemistry, hazard recognition, thermal runaway response, air monitoring, and fireground strategy and tactics. The training combines classroom instruction with hands-on application and covers battery emergencies in transportation, residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

The course covers batteries found in transportation— such as passenger vehicles, ground transport, air, and sea shipping—as well as in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Registration is reserved for the KC metropolitan area for (MO Counties - Ray, Jackson, Clay, Cass, Platte and KS Counties - Leavenworth, Johnson and Wyandotte).

Travel costs are not provided.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
