Transportation Improvement Program Amendment

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is the region’s short-range program that identifies projects to receive federal funds and projects that are of regional significance to be implemented over the next three to five years. MARC amends the TIP on both a quarterly cycle and as needed to accommodate changes to projects in the TIP.

The proposed 2026 Special Amendment #3 to the 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program includes an update to the budget for the Riverway Boulevard Improvements in Riverside, Missouri. The project will:

  1. Realign northbound Route 9 on-ramp
  2. Convert signalized intersection at W. Platte & Riverway to a roundabout
  3. Replace signed, double intersection at Riverway &T ullison with a roundabout
  4. Create access points directly onto Riverway from adjacent industrial areas
  5. Remove unsafe industrial access; and
  6. Construct curb/gutter, street lighting, and bicycle/pedestrian facilities to better serve the community. This improves traffic flow and safety, and provides better sight distances, truck access and turning movements. Bike and pedestrian access will be created along with enhancing stormwater management.

The deadline for comments on the TIP is Tuesday, Aug 18.
