Greater Kansas City Regional Bikeway Plan Update

The Greater Kansas City Regional Bikeway Plan supports local jurisdictions in the development of a safe and connected regional bike network by focusing resources, reducing policy and infrastructure barriers, and providing recommendations, strategies and tools for local planning and design. 

The documents on the plan page include the updated draft plan as well as technical memos developed during the planning process.

The deadline for feedback on the bikeway plan is Tuesday, March 31.

Transportation Improvement Program Amendment

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is the region’s short-range program that identifies projects to receive federal funds and projects that are of regional significance to be implemented over the next three to five years. MARC amends the TIP on both a quarterly cycle and as needed to accommodate changes to projects in the TIP.
            
The proposed 2026 2nd Quarter Amendment to the 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program includes 17 projects:

  • Adding 11 new projects, including but not limited to:
    • #282019 – KDOT – Replace overhead sign truss structures and lighting at the K-5/I-435 interchange
    • #380252 – KDOT – Construction of a new interchange at K-10 & Lone Elm Rd.
    • #490265 – MoDOT – IS 635: Add interchange lighting at Rte. 9 in Riverside.
    • #868002 – Paola – Intersections of S. Hospital Dr. & E. Peoria St. and Hedge Ln. & W 299th St.
  • Modifying the scope, schedule or budget of six existing projects, including but not limited to:
    • #180080 – KDOT – Addition of the construction phase to the Centennial Bridge replacement in Leavenworth County.

The deadline for comments on the TIP is Friday, April 3.
