In consultation with area hospitals’ Chief Medical Officers, the region’s public health departments are issuing a Public Health Advisory in response to rapidly increasing COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations across the Kansas City metro related to the emergence of the delta variant.

The region’s public health officials are recommending school districts continue to require masks in school buildings, in accordance with recent changes in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) masking guidelines.

The region’s public health directors have issued the following joint statement on vaccine availability in the Kansas City metropolitan region.

Public health departments have been working with our metro’s hospital systems in strong collaboration since COVID-19 entered our region. We have appreciated this partnership which is imperative for a safe and health community.
