What is the SkyCast?
The SkyCast is the ozone forecast for the Kansas City region. Like a weather forecast, it tells you what conditions are most likely to be for the next day.
You can find the SkyCast on this website, on Twitter, via email, on local news, in the newspaper, or through the Workplace Partnership. You can also add it to your website or call the Air Quality Information Line at 816-701-8287.
Outreach website
MARC’s air quality program has a website dedicated to outreach and education. You can go to AirQKC.org to learn about the causes of ozone pollution, individual and community solutions, and workplace tips. The site also provides the daily SkyCast, animated video shorts and educational materials for children.
Emissions clinics scheduled during ozone season
During ozone season (March 1–
Oct. 31), the MARC air quality program provides emissions clinics and gas-cap testing free of charge. These tests are designed to help consumers save money and reduce pollution by identify vehicles that may be in need of simple maintenance. Replacing a leaky gas cap costs around $20 and can save as much as a gallon every 15 days. Less wasted gas and more efficient vehicles helps keep our air clean. Find upcoming emissions clinics online.
