The Sport and Special Event Enhanced Risk Management and Assessment course brings first responders, government, and commercial facilities professionals together to prepare or enhance risk management and assessment programs. The course introduces methodologies designed to complement and expand on national critical infrastructure framework guidelines. The training leverages a combination of exercises, discussions, and activities to optimize participant experience. The training is applicable across the United States regardless of the venue size, capacity, or type of event. Those who successfully complete this course should be able to use this training to develop or improve risk management and assessment programs for any sport or special event venue.

Prerequisites

There are no course prerequisites for this course but recommended training:

  • AWR-167: Sport and Special Event Risk Management and Planning
  • IS-100.C: Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
  • IS-200.C: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
  • IS-700.B: National Incident Management System (NIMS)
  • IS-800.D: National Response Framework, an Introduction 

FEMA / SID Number

Students must have a FEMA Student Identification Number (SID) to attend class. You can look up your FEMA SID, or register for a new one, at the following site: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid.
