MARC hosted a Transportation & Environment Open House on Oct. 20, bringing together community members, regional partners and stakeholders to discuss plans and initiatives that support the future of the Kansas City region. The event provided an opportunity for attendees to learn about MARC's work, ask questions and share feedback on projects designed to improve mobility, sustainability and quality of life.

MARC staff highlighted a range of transportation and environmental planning efforts, including the Housing and Transportation Coordination Plan, Smart Moves KC, the Regional Bikeway Plan, air quality initiatives, and updates to the Public Participation Plan. Participants engaged directly with project staff and explored how these initiatives are helping address regional challenges while supporting accessible transportation options, healthier communities and long-term economic vitality.

“We are grateful for the public’s participation in our transportation and environmental initiatives,” said Ron Achelpohl, MARC’s director of transportation and environment. “Community input helps us develop solutions that better serve the region, and we look forward to future open houses where residents can continue to help shape our work.”
