Location

The event will be at the Robert J. Mohart Multi-Purpose Center at 3200 Wayne Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri.

You can enter the event venue at the southwest corner of the building off Flora Avenue between Linwood Boulevard and E. 33rd Street.

There is accessible parking off E. 33rd Street at Flora Avenue.

A shuttle will pick up from a nearby location to take you to the event.

Event Highlights

  • Over 70 community agencies that provide resources for healthy aging.
  • Onsite health services: vaccinations, A1C testing, blood pressure testing, primary care referrals and more.
  • Workshops on caregiving strategies, navigating primary care, beneficiary deed assistance, identifying scams and fraud, adaptive exercise and more. (Full schedule coming soon!)
  • Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers available ($50 in vouchers to area farmers markets for qualifying participants):
    • Eligibility Requirements: Must be 60 or older and gross household income no more than 185% of the annual federal poverty level.
    • Must provide proof of age, income and residence at the event.
  • Live music from a local band, Stranded in the City.
  • Photobooth provided by Photobus KC.
  • Small bites provided by local food trucks. (Note: we are not able to offer full meals this year.)

  • Do I have to register? No, we will accept walk-ins day of, but if the event is at capacity we will prioritize entry for those who registered. Please do your best to arrive and exit the event during your selected timeslot.
     
  • Do I need to have a physical/printed ticket? You do not need a physical ticket or a printout of your confirmation to get into the event, we will check you in with your first and last name.
     
  • What if I can’t make my timeslot? Please do your best to arrive and exit the event during your selected timeslot, however, we are allowing walk-ins anytime (pending event capacity) throughout the event should you need to come at a different time.
     
  • Is the event indoors or outdoors? The event will have indoor and outdoor elements. In the event of inclement weather, we will move as much of the activities inside as possible.
     
  • I can’t make the event, how can I connect with the available resources? Call the MARC Aging and Adult Services Information and Referral Line at 816-421-4980 to get more information about community resources available to older adults and caregivers.
