The MARRS Management Council provides policy guidance and oversight of the radio system to ensure that a high quality, reliable system is available to the metropolitan area, meets the needs of emergency response agencies and is financed equitably.

MGT 440 course is scenario based, focusing on event planning, incident management, and policy level decision making. The course is intended to prepare participants for the response to a large scale incident during sporting or special events.

Individuals attending in person will meet on the second floor of the Rivergate Center - Mid-America Regional Council, 600 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64105.

Individuals attending virtually will log-in using the Microsoft Teams video conferencing platform.

This is a 2-day management-level course that emphasizes the unique aspects of response to an incident occurring during a sports/special event, including considerations for business continuity and after-action activities. You will learn the skills necessary to effectively manage an incident by applying and implementing a multi-disciplinary management team approach as described in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). At the end of the course a practical application exercise can be customized to the facility where the course is held.

It was developed for regional first responders who will be exposed to and then asked to demonstrate techniques related to countermeasures when engaging with motivated attackers. This instructor-led training will start with classroom instruction which will build to demonstrated techniques and end with practical application scenarios involving simulations. Travel costs are not provided.

Regular monthly meeting of the Metropolitan Emergency Managers Committee (MEMC).

This is a management-level course that is scenario-based course will guide emergency response organizations and critical infrastructure IT personnel through multiple simulated events to learn how to coordinate efforts during a cyber incident. These real-time exercises are designed to assist jurisdictions with managing cyber response efforts between traditional emergency responders and IT professionals.
