Thinking and Tinkering in STEAM

Training Description

This interactive training is part of a five-part STEAM series for early learning educators. Participants will explore how young children develop early engineering concepts through tinkering, making and hands-on problem-solving. Using resources from Grow Up Great, DRDP and NAEYC, educators will learn how to align activities with Developmentally Appropriate Practice and integrate them into the classroom based on children’s interests. This session will highlight how to blend pedagogical content knowledge—knowing both the content of engineering concepts and how young children learn them—to create engaging, inclusive experiences that foster creativity, persistence and critical thinking.
