Regional Resource Sharing Agreement

for Emergency Response and Recovery

Overview

The Kansas City Regional Resource Sharing Agreement (RSA) provides a framework that helps jurisdictions across the bi-state region identify and share resources before an incident occurs. The agreement supports stronger coordination between cities and counties, improves response efficiency and promotes a unified approach to mutual aid.

History

The agreement was developed and approved by the Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee through extensive input from a multidisciplinary group of emergency services professionals. It helps communities access diverse resources, achieve logistical and economic efficiencies and fill gaps in capability during emergencies. It also helps jurisdictions quickly mobilize personnel and expertise in public information, medical examination, public health, public works and volunteer coordination.
