Resilient Success Stories
To accelerate the positive momentum our region is building toward greater sustainability and resiliency, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) highlights selected regional leaders and organizations at our biennial Resilient Success Stories event.
We are currently accepting submissions for event honorees. Honorees will highlight their exemplary policies, plans, projects and practices aligned with the KC Regional Climate Action Plan. A panel of judges will select our honorees from the pool of submissions completed by Friday, September 11 at 11:59 p.m. CDT. Selected honorees will share the spark for their work, challenges overcome and community benefits achieved. Vibrant Success Stories
For over a decade, the Planning Sustainable Places Program has worked to advance integrated local transportation and land use planning across the region. Every two years, Mid-America Regional Council recognizes those planning studies that exemplify the opportunities that integrated planning can achieve at our Vibrant Success Stories event. This event builds upon our prior showcase events for success stories around the Kansas City region, where we honor those embracing and accelerating positive change in regional transportation, land use and other environmental aspects.
The 118 studies that have been funded, as part of Planning Sustainable Places, have incorporated concepts that are consistent with sustainable communities, and the advancement of site-specific and project-specific activities that further the planning framework for centers and corridors. The studies have meaningfully engaged their communities in a collaborative dialogue to elevate and advance their futures.
