Green Stormwater Infrastructure Certification Program

The Mid-America Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Certification Program is an educational opportunity for professionals and businesses who build or maintain green stormwater infrastructure projects. 

The learning objectives for the certification program are categorized into seven subject areas related to the maintenance of green stormwater infrastructure. Five content areas are assessed in an online on-demand maintenance certification, and two are assessed in a field maintenance certification requiring on-site participation. • Expansion of skills and knowledge and maintaining GSI facilities.
• Proof of commitment to supporting the updated performance standards of GSI.
• Meeting requirements or ordinances set by jurisdiction or private contracts looking to hire skilled GSI workers.

The directory lists individuals who have earned the Mid-America GSI certifications.

On-demand maintenance certification lists individuals who have completed a four-hour online curriculum for green stormwater maintenance. Field maintenance certification lists individuals who have completed the on-demand curriculum as well as two six-hour seasonal outdoor on-site trainings.
